Ive
appreciated Birchy Lake only while at highway speeds. The long lake on one side
and tall mountains the other had only been a blur. I finally did stop this October
day to capture the fall colours down by lakeside. Hiking back up to my car I
saw the two jet contrails in alignment with the trees and the highway lines.
Kneeling down to put the shoulder line in the corner, I took a quick snap, hopped
in the car and drove off, still imaging in my mind the trees down by the lake.
Only when I got home did I really line up this picture. There is not only a
common vanishing point; the lines from the top (including the trees) go solid
break break break solid. It gets everyone looking
west.
