The use of shakes for siding is not very common in Newfoundland. The setting sun gave all kinds of texture to the sunny side of the house – it was just good timing. Just one small window facing the sun in the west. Most of the windows are facing the ocean, not too far from this house in Harbour Main.
I’m not too sure what the current use of this house might be, but there is a well made barn in behind, and farm fields behind that. The family that originally called this home would have eaten well.
